Our volunteer tutors work with individuals in need of assistance at any skill level. Tutoring is completed in a one-on-one environment either in-person or online. For some learners, the environment of a classroom doesn't suit their learning style or schedule. Therefore, learning with a trained tutor may be a better option. You may have a specific goal related to work, school, or a personal one which we can help you work towards. All learners start our program by registering and taking an assessment in order to determine their learning level before meeting with a tutor.
We can customize your preparation for the GED Test beginning with an assessment to determine the specific areas of instruction you will need to focus on with your studies. Learners in this program should plan to meet with a tutor for at least 2 hours per week and to complete work independently between sessions. Session times and delivery methods can be adjusted to fit the schedules of the tutors and learners.
We offer Beginner and Intermediate English language assistance. Learners will be paired with a trained tutor based on their current abilities and goals. Lessons are tailored to the needs of each individual entering our program.
Immigrants who are eligible and who have good English language fluency can work with a tutor to prepare for the United States Naturalization Exam. Keep in mind that time to prepare for this test is dependent on an individual's speaking, reading, and writing skills.
